Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources, Equity & Inclusion ( HREI ) team at St. Catherine University invites applications for a Human Resources Manager.
The HREI team visions the St. Kate's community as one that is inclusive and where all are welcome. The Human Resources Manager will identify structural and procedural challenges and collaborate with leaders across the university to sustain a culture of engaged and high-performing faculty and staff through creating and executing policies, practices, and equitable compensation programs that are filtered through the lens of equity and inclusion, representing Human Resources as an effective and solution-orientated partner.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with leadership to identify and prioritize systemic change initiatives within Academic Affairs that lead to equitable, effective, and efficient policies and practices.
- Provide strategic advice, guidance and thought leadership to faculty and staff across the university, ensuring equitable treatment and practices in the area of contracts, faculty affairs, regulatory guidelines and other employment related matters.
- Act as a resource and provide guidance and support to employees in navigating difficult situations, providing thoughtful feedback to supervisors and/or colleagues, and resolving conflicts in a respectful and professional manner.
- Act as the HR liaison with academic departments around faculty contracts and the faculty promotion and review process, ensuring that policies and processes are efficient, consistent, and filtered through the lens of equity and inclusion.
- In partnership with HR leadership, develop policies and procedures around equitable pay practices.
- Create and develop guidelines for position descriptions that align with requirements in the faculty handbook; encouraging the use of inclusive language in position descriptions, ensuring that responsibilities around inclusive excellence are embedded in responsibilities, and challenging minimum qualifications that may be based upon traditionally held biases.
- Conduct analyses of jobs and salaries in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance for existing positions, new positions, and position changes. Make recommendations regarding salary grades and market comparators for specific jobs.
- With the primary area of focus in Faculty Promotion and Tenure, work in partnership with HR and Academic Leadership in the development and implementation of high-quality and equitable performance management processes.
- Within the framework of shared governance and the policies outlined in the faculty handbook and faculty evaluation manual, partner with faculty and administration in ensuring that faculty reviews are conducted in a timely manner.
- Lead and develop direct report who will support this position and the work required to ensure smooth delivery of services.
- Represent the HR department in a positive and professional way when interacting with employees throughout the organization, interacting with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds and treating all with respect, dignity and compassion.
- Actively contribute as a member of the HR, Equity and Inclusion Leadership Team by working in collaboration with the other team members to actively accomplish the division and university strategic goals.

Minimum Qualifications
- Three (3) years of HR experience including experience leading systemic organization change that involves partnership with a high volume of stakeholders or experience collaborating with academic affairs to achieve systemic change.
- One (1) year of experience leading project teams.
- Experience creating positive and collaborative relationships with leaders, successfully redirecting them toward consistent and legal solutions.
- Experience identifying and implementing technology solutions to improve efficiency
- Excellent analytical and technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing successful changes to faculty contract and assessment processes.
- Experience conducting wage analyses using market survey data.
